Perhaps we can't provide the exact freedoms of the past, but in our supervised group setting, we believe we can provide a safe environment for children to achieve those same benefits. Our skilled staff will provide the physical environment and support children's autonomy by encouraging them to advocate for themselves and negotiate with others. Growth in personal confidence and success in peer relationships will set the foundation for continued success in all areas of their adult lives.
"in the age of video games, fast food and reduced physical activity, now, more than ever is a crucial time for youth to get outside....get active...." Lenore Skenazy. Free Range Kids

Lake Country is a Mecca for all kinds of outdoor adventures. And we will be participating in as many as we can. Children will hike, swim, paddle boats, play on the beach, build forts, pick fruit in orchards and whatever else we can dream up.
Pay it forward
A truly successful life is not just about having good things come to you. Giving to others brings a sense of purpose and a satisfaction to life that things can't provide. Lake Country Adventure Centre is committed to initiating projects both local and international that the children will be involved in planning and executing these endeavours.
Wherever possible, we will try to re-use quality materials in anything we build at the Centre. We have also purchased some recycled toys and equipment in pristine condition. Where it makes the best sense, we will buy new items but for the most part, we want to set an example of sustainability
Electronics free zone
Children need to be active and fully engaged physically, socially and mentally. We want the children in our care to fully experience everything our programs has to offer so we will request that all electronics be kept safely at home.
